Washington, DC (April 13, 2011): On Thursday, April 14th, at 10:30am, the Elections Subcommittee of the Committee on House Administration will hold a hearing on H.R. 672, proposed legislation to abolish the Election Assistance Commission (EAC). Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer, one of the main architects of the Help America Vote Act which created the EAC, is scheduled to testify about the ongoing importance of the EAC.
Washington, DC(April 1, 2011): During a hearing convened by the Committee on House Administration yesterday, a report issued by the Office of Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler was the subject of tremendous scrutiny. The report, prepared with official state resources, makes unfounded allegations of non-citizens registering to vote and participating in the 2010 Election in Colorado. In a statement issued today, Rep. Charles Gonzalez, D-TX, questioned Mr. Gessler's judgment in preparing and releasing such a flawed report:
February 16, 2011 (Washington, DC): Democratic Members of the House Administration Committee today issued a call for colleagues to oppose the Cole Amendment, to H.R. 1 – The Continuing Resolution. The Amendment eliminates the Presidential Public Campaign Fund, under the guise of cost savings.

“Today’s disregard of the wishes of the nearly 10 million Americans who voluntarily direct $3 of their tax obligation to fund Presidential campaigns, marks a low point in the History of this House,” said Brady.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to DanMulhollan, Director of the Congressional Research Service (CRS) on his announced retirement.
Mr. Mulhollan has been a fixture here on Capitol Hill, having joined the Library of Congress in 1969. His 42 years of service are only exceeded by three current House Members.”
Washington, DC (January 18, 2011): House Administration Committee Democrats today voiced support for H.R.292 , Stop the OverPrinting Act, sponsored by Rep. Christopher Lee (R-NY). The legislation calls for the Public Printer to make bills and resolutions available to House and Senate Offices, in an electronic format only, and accessible through the Internet, unless hard copies are specifically requested.
