Overview
The Committee on House Administration (Democratic Staff) is accepting applications for a short-term internship opportunity during the late fall 2026 term. The internship is anticipated to run from mid-October through early December, and interns must be based in Washington, D.C. for the duration of the internship.
Interns will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the Committee’s work during an important period for the House, including supporting preparations for New Member Orientation and helping incoming Members and their offices prepare to begin their service in Congress. This hands-on experience provides individuals interested in Congress and public service with the opportunity to make an immediate contribution to the work of the House while gaining firsthand insight into the operations of the institution.
Internships are intended for current undergraduate students, current graduate students, and recent college graduates. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and legally eligible to work for the U.S. federal government. The Committee on House Administration is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, military status, age, marital status, or parental status.
Responsibilities
Interns will support the Committee’s administrative and operational work. Responsibilities may include assisting with preparations for New Member Orientation, aiding staff with special projects and time-sensitive assignments, and providing general administrative and logistical support to Committee staff as needed.
