In his MSNBC opinion article, Congressman Joe Morelle writes a strong opinion outlining why election denialism has no place in our American Democracy, especially the Speaker's Office of the House of Representatives. He writes in part, "Speaker Johnson has a moral and legal obligation to support the orderly and peaceful transition of government and to ensure every American has confidence that their vote counts. His actions and comments fall well short of meeting this obligation."

Ranking Member Morelle wrote an opinion piece emphasizing the importance of ensuring the peaceful transfer of power, writing, "It is imperative that we bolster our efforts against the Big Lie and the coordinated attack on our democracy as we approach January 6, 2025. That includes proactively urging all of my colleagues in Congress to ensure a peaceful certification of the next presidential election."
