May 23, 2012 (San Antonio) Today, under pressure from House Republicans, a collection of internal documents from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) was released that explain how the Commission is supposed to determine whether to prosecute a campaign or individual for violating our campaign finance laws and regulations. House Administration Committee Ranking Member Robert Brady released the following statement on the Schweikert Amendment, which would amend the Commerce, Justice, and Science Appropriations Act of 2013 to prohibit funds for the Department of Justice to bring any action against any State for how it implements a Voter I.D. law:

April 17, 2012 (Washington, D.C.) The 9th Circuit today decided a case that has far reaching implications for the right to vote. The decision, which requires Arizona to accept the federal voter registration form promulgated by the Election Assistance Commission, which does not require an applicant to show proof of citizenship.

February 9, 2012 (Washington, DC) House Administration Committee Ranking Democrat Robert Brady (PA) joined Representative Chris Van Hollen (MD) in introducing the DISCLOSE 2012 Act today.
Under the Democratic Majority in 2010, the first DISCLOSE Act was passed in the House of Representatives, but died in the Senate, falling one vote short to end a filibuster. The bill seeks to restore the American people’s trust in our elections process in the aftermath of the US Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.
