Committee on House Administration Ranking Member Joe Morelle delivered the following remarks during the House Administration Committee hearing on the United States Capitol Police.

Chairperson Lofgren announced a February 17 hearing with the Inspector General of the United States Capitol Police to review his final flash reports on the January 6 insurrectionist attack on the Capitol.

Lofgren issued a statement following a briefing by the Capitol Police Board on security improvements to the Capitol Complex in the year since the January 6, 2021 attack.

Today, Committee on House Administration Chairperson Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) announced the committee will hold upcoming hearings with the Inspectors General of the United States Capitol Police and the Architect of the Capitol about the January 6 insurrectionist attack on the Capitol. The hearings will continue the Committee’s work on critical oversight and response issues related to the attack.
