Committee on House Administration Chairperson Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) today announced the Committee will hold an additional hearing with U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) Inspector General Michael A. Bolton after he delivered a fourth flash report to USCP oversight committees today. The latest report identified significant deficiencies pertaining to the Department’s Containment and Emergency Response Team and First Responders Unit and made more than 20 recommendations. In addition, the latest flash report notes that some of the Inspector General’s findings raised such significant and troubling concerns that he separately provided an urgent advisory to Department leadership before the full report was complete. The upcoming hearing will be the Committee’s fifth public hearing investigating the January 6 attack, more than any other committee in Congress.
