Ranking Member Morelle Statement on President Trump’s Intent to Compensate Violent January 6th Insurrectionists
WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Joe Morelle (NY-25), the top Democrat on the Committee on House Administration, released the following statement after President Trump discussed creating a compensation fund for violent January 6th insurrectionists during his recent Newsmax interview:
“Rewarding violent felons who viciously beat police officers while laying siege to the Capitol would be the ultimate betrayal of those who risked—and in some cases gave—their lives protecting Congress and our democracy on January 6th. I stand with law enforcement; I wish President Trump did too.”
