Ranking Member Morelle Statement on Flawed SAVE Database Ruling by the Supreme Court
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Joe Morelle (NY-25), the top Democrat on the Committee on House Administration, issued this statement after the Supreme Court of the United States allowed the Trump Administration to use the unreliable Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database to check voter rolls:
"The Trump Administration and its enablers on the Supreme Court continue to create confusion and chaos around our elections. But voters should know this: today’s ruling does not allow last-minute, large-scale voter removals. Federal law still protects Americans from broad voter roll purging in the 90 days before an election.
"American elections are safe and secure. Right now, you can register to vote, check your registration status, and make a plan to vote," said Ranking Member Joe Morelle.
