Ranking Member Morelle Highlighted Democratic Priorities of Authorization and Oversight Plan During Full Committee Markup
WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Joe Morelle (NY-25), the top Democrat on the Committee on House Administration, highlighted Democratic priorities of the Authorization and Oversight Plan for the 119th Congress during a full committee markup.
“This Committee can have a profound impact on how the House—and as a result, our nation—addresses our most challenging issues. But we can't do that without the work of what I consider one of Congress's greatest assets: our nonpartisan institutional staff,” said Ranking Member Morelle during the full committee markup. “In my two years as Ranking Member of this committee, I’ve had the good fortune of getting to know the institutional staff that includes Capitol Police officers, skilled craftspeople, cyber security experts, auditors, food service staff, and tour guides, just to name a few. And I want to make sure these public servants who work so hard behind the scenes, know that they are appreciated and valued here.”
The Authorization and Oversight Plan includes goals related to federal election law, the Congressional Accountability Act of 1995, Legislative Branch agencies, general House operations, and other areas within the Committee’s jurisdiction.
