Morelle’s Statement on Speaker Johnson’s Inability to Say President Biden Won the 2020 Election

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Joe Morelle (NY-25), the top Democrat of the Committee on House Administration, issued this statement following Speaker Johnson’s refusal to acknowledge that President Biden won the 2020 election during an interview on This Week with George Stephanopoulos:

“Speaker Johnson continues to repeat the lies of a disgraced former President. A leader has a responsibility to tell the truth. Speaker Johnson should place the responsibilities of his oath above the insecurities of former President Trump. I understand Speaker Johnson is trying to keep his job, but his duty is to the Constitution, and he should act like it.”
