Morelle Statement on SCOTUS Decision to Protect Mail-in Voting

June 29, 2026

WASHINGTON – Rep. Joe Morelle (NY-25), the top Democrat on the Committee on House Administration, issued this statement following the Supreme Court of the United States’ decision in Watson v. RNC – a case that now upholds our nation’s safe and secure election administration method of voting by mail:

“The Supreme Court did the right thing today. Americans who cast their ballots on time deserve to have their votes counted. That is what our democracy demands, and it is what every American deserves. Today’s ruling is an important victory for voters, but efforts to undermine confidence in our elections and restrict access to the ballot continue. Every eligible American should check their registration, make a plan to vote, and, where available, vote early or by mail.”
