Morelle Statement in Advance of President Trump’s Address

WASHINGTON – Rep. Joe Morelle (NY-25), the top Democrat on the Committee on House Administration, issued the following statement in advance of the presidential address expected to be laced with conspiracy theories about America’s election security:

“Tonight’s address is part of Donald Trump’s ongoing campaign to subvert our democracy. The 2020 election was thoroughly protected, and his own administration determined it was secure. Trump is a master of mis- and dis-information. But what’s most concerning is he’s creating a pretext to undermine the results in November by casting doubt on the integrity of our democratic systems. He will not succeed because we won’t let him, but more importantly, the American people won’t let him.”
