Morelle Criticizes Scheme to Deny North Carolinians the Right to Vote for President

Rochester, New York – Rep. Joe Morelle (N.Y.-25), top Democrat of the Committee on House Administration, issued this statement following reports of the Chair of the House Freedom Caucus, Rep. Andy Harris, publicly discussing a plot to disenfranchise millions of North Carolinians:

“Extreme Republican leaders are openly advocating that North Carolina’s Electoral votes be given to Donald Trump without an election. For the first time in North Carolina’s history, voters could be denied their right to choose the President. This blood-chilling scheme, suggested by the Chair of the so-called House Freedom Caucus, is anti-American.”
