House Administration Committee Considers Voter Registration Efficiency Act

June 4, 2013

June 4, 2013 (Washington, D.C.) The Committee on House Administration met to consider H.R. 2115, The Voter Registration Efficiency Act, introduced by Committee Chairman Candice Miller (R-MI). The bill would require individuals applying for a license in a new state to indicate if they intend to register to vote in the new state, and informs the election official in the previous state of the change.

“The idea behind this bill makes a lot of sense,” said Ranking Member Robert Brady (D-PA). “Accurate voter rolls help our local elections officials run smooth, accurate, and fair elections. I look forward to working with Chairman Miller on the bill to ensure no one accidentally loses their right to vote in the process.”
