Extreme MAGA Republicans Vote Against The Freedom to Vote Act

Today, at the Committee on House Administration markup on the Big Lie bill, Committee Republicans voted against the Freedom to Vote Act as an amendment to their big lie bill.

The amendment was introduced by Ranking Member Joe Morelle, who said, “This year state legislatures have passed a near-record number of new restrictive voting laws. The Supreme Court found multiple Congressional maps racially gerrymandered. And violent threats against election workers and officials remains a constant peril. This amendment will protect this most basic – and fundamental of freedoms.”

The Big Lie bill is an anti-voter, corporate money, and extremist bill designed to appease election deniers. It is based on misinformation, restricts the freedom to vote, burdens local election officials, and expands dark money.
